Tranquility, scenery, good food, boats and planes
Recently for my birthday my dear husband took me to Northshore Riverside Café at Hamilton Reach. This is an up-and-coming, new and vibrant, ever-expanding addition to Brisbane riverside living and it's open for breakfast and lunch daily.
Seated at the bar we enjoyed wonderful, uninterrupted views of the Brisbane River on this beautiful autumn morning whilst enjoying a delicious breakfast. My choice was what turned out to be the most divine scrambled eggs on toasted Turkish bread , enhanced by their special chutney sauce. It was simply scrumptious. A bacon and egg croissant with Swiss cheese was also a winner and satisfaction completed with nice hot coffee.
There is a sandy beach to play on, although no swimming in the river is permitted. Grassed areas with BBQ's are available for BYO gatherings.
The pavers at the front of the building provide an informative and fun history lesson of the area. This is an area of our beautiful city to keep an eye on as it develops with walkways and bikeways along the riverbank.
The staff at Northshore are all very friendly and welcoming. The hours are 9am-3pm Monday to Friday and 8am-4pm Saturday and Sunday. It is advisable to ring on a Saturday to ensure the venue is open as it is popular for special functions.
