Northern Territory Ballroom Dancing Association (NTBDA) - Community Ball
If you are looking for a new way to stay active and meet new friends, then why not try ballroom, new vogue or progressive dancing? The NT Ballroom Dancing Association will be holding a Community Ball on Saturday 19 August 2017 at Darwin Golf Club, Links Road, Marrara from 7 pm to late.
Ballroom dancing is a lovely way to learn new skills and because of the nature of partner dancing is a great way to meet new friends.
New Vogue dancing is an Australian form of sequence dancing which originated in the 1930's. The dances are based on a sequence of dance steps which are continually repeated, making them relatively easy for newcomers to learn and remember.
The Community Ball will feature live music and a number of different types of dances will be enjoyed such as ballroom, new vogue, progressive and even rock 'n' roll. The cost is $15 per head, and supper is included. Everyone is welcome; young and old. This is a 'come and try' event and local dancers will be available to pass on their own dance skills.
If you would like to try dancing, social dancing is held at the Malak Community Hall on Wednesdays from 7 pm to 9 pm with beginners welcome.
For further information on the event or Wednesday regular dances, please contact Evelyn O'Brien on 0401 935 758.
