Soulful food and great company
My friend and I were looking for a quick place to grab a bite to eat on the weekend. The top half of high street heading away from the city has really started to hit it off over the past years, and there is an unusual collection of cafes, clothing stores and interesting shops to be found.

I like that this side of town is still a bit unrefined and there are loads of start-up businesses in the area you can help support like Northern Soul Café.

Northern Soul Café has padded booths which is always nice to relax into as you watch the parade of characters passing by. I also went and stuck my head out into the back garden that was pleasant, but it was still slightly too cold to sit out in.

It was lunch time so I tucked into the organic beef curry with mixed veggies and rice which was gluten free and my friend had the burritos they were good.

Tibetan dishes are also on the menu.

I washed everything down with a strong latte. The service was a little too relaxed for my pace but it was a Sunday and it definitely had a weekend vibe.
