Northern Regards Artisan Market, held at Northcote Social Club, believes in the notion that sustainable items cannot be replicated or mass produced. With a focus on stallholders selling upcycled arts and crafts, it is true to say that most of the wares seen at Northern Regards Artisan Market will rarely be identical due to the nature of materials used.
Melbourne's first and only sustainable artisan market turns one this weekend, with extra special craft celebrations marked for the occasion. here will be a series of workshops offered at Northern Regards Artisan Market's 1st birthday, where you can join one of three classes embracing the market's strong values in upcycled craft:
Workshop 1 - Fix Your Loot
From 11am - 2pm
Fix Your Loot' hosted by Thornbury Women's Neighbourhood House is a jewellery re-creation and up-cycling workshop, teaching you to:
make a pair of tiered earrings using a recycled beaded necklace/bracelet
Offered by Gunnbelievable Salvage Art, Chloe Gunn will show you how to turn a beer carton into a neat little notebook. With step-by-step instructions for a simple design, you will be measuring, cutting, gluing and binding, taking home your very own handmade A6 sized notebook.
Beer Carton Notebook Class
Your teacher Chloe Gunn designed this nifty little beer carton notebook for Good Beer Week, with the same class taking place at Laneway Learning before making its way to Northern Regards.
Another class by trash to treasure craft expert Chloe Gunn, this time turning an old milk carton into a card wallet. Bring your own 1ltr carton to use if you would like to, (Just Juice being a popular choice) alternatively you will be given a bonsoy carton to use.
