The Northern Centre for Contemporary Art is tucked away in Vimy Lane in Parap. It's tucked between the Parap police station and the famous Indian place called Saffron. There is ample parking nearby on a weekday. You will have trouble getting parking on a Saturday though as the Parap Market is on all year round.
The exhibition space is small and the installations change every 6-8 weeks. The works they show are great. It's a great thing to do immediately after getting a feed at the Parap Markets on a Saturday. The staff leave you alone to enjoy the exhibitions and it's lovely and cool inside.
There is also a guestbook where you can leave your email address and details. This enables NCCA to let you know when the opening nights and other pertinent art events are on around Darwin. Don't let the simplicity of the outside be a deterrent to not go in. It's well worth seeing all their exhibitions.
