I like to participate in life rather than be a spectator. Music, dancing, theatre, travelling, food, cycling and walking are some of my passions. Writing is an enjoyable pastime that allows me to share my experiences.
North Sydney Harbourview Hotel is conveniently located for exploring Sydney. North Sydney train station is less than five minutes walk and it is about thirty minutes to walk to the historic Rocks via the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Various accommodation packages are offered on weekends such as "Weekend Refuel","Romancing With A View" or those that include entrance tickets to Luna Park or Taronga Zoo. For $289 on a Friday or Sunday night you can stay in a Harbourview room, with free Wi-Fi, daily newspapers, parking and a late checkout of 12pm. To add to the romance you will also receive a bottle of sparkling wine, chocolates, a 2 for 1 drink voucher at Blues Bar, a three course dinner for two at LB's and full buffet breakfast the next morning.
Our room was generously sized with a comfortable bed, opening windows, a decent sized wardrobe with plenty of hangers, ironing facilities, a safe, tea & coffee and a small fridge. The shower room was practical but compact and it was possible to leave the blind open in order to shower with a view.
The bar and restaurant have friendly helpful staff and good quality food and drink. The ambiance of the hotel is one of unhurried relaxation. Nearby there are a bars, pubs, coffee shops, Greenwood Plaza shopping centre and it is a very easy walk to Milsons Point, Lavendar Bay & Kirribilli. It is possible to park your car undercover and not use it again until you are ready to leave.
Some people may find the train noise quite apparent on the ground floor so if you think it could be a problem you could request a high floor (there are 14 floors). North Sydney Harbourview Hotel has plenty of facilities for business and leisure travellers and is a great base for a 'staycation' in beautiful Sydney.
