It will start on Sunday 22nd of October with the science-themed creative workshops and will wrap up on Saturday the 28th of October with a celebration of childhood at the Children's Festival, bringing together the North Sydney community for a day of creative and family-friendly fun in Civic Park.
The North Sydney Council is excited to add these new additions Council's Children's Week festivities and all explore this year's theme of 'Art Meets Science'. The workshops include shadow puppetry, papermaking, paper dying, card making, painting, pinhole cameras, origami, body percussion, exploring art through senses and make your own magnetic brooch.
Due to the big demand in attending these workshops, you will need to make sure that you book your places.

At this year's festival, children can step into the Storytime Teepee and join storytellers from the Aboriginal Heritage Office and Stanton Library. For more information contact the Aboriginal Heritage Officeor Stanton Library.
They can marvel at erupting volcanoes with North Sydney Scouts, grow their very own Native Grass Head with Council's Bushcare Team or solve a crime with North Sydney Police using fingerprint forensics.
Children can also discover the science of sound with North Sydney Girls High School Band and learn about the importance of blue carbon in combating climate change with the science whizzes at Culture at Work.
There will also be A Window to the Future – primary school children's art exhibition exploring the future from the 19th of October to the 4th of December 2017. It will be open from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm in the Transit Art Space, Council Chambers.
