The North Lakes Library is open every day of the week, and has a constant supply of creative, social and skill building activities for every member of the community. Here's a list of just a few groups and clubs you can join to make new friends and learn new things:
Author talks and writers group – Every now and again the North Lakes Library is lucky enough to have an author stop by
for a heart to heart on their hard work and achievements, or to celebrate the launching of their new book. Keep checking the Moreton Bay Region Libraries website
here for upcoming talks. The Saturday writers group is also worth a look of you're a dab hand with the words yourself.
Kids book clubs – Two local book clubs are run out of the North Lakes Library. The Anime club is for all anime and manga lovers from grades 7 to 12, and is by registration. Readiculous is aimed at grades 4 to 6, and encourages kids to talk about books, magazines and new technologies. They can also win challenges and prizes. These clubs are run once a month, check the
website for the next date.
Knitting for the needy – if you love knitting, making new friends and contributing to the community, then this group is for you! Meet up once a month from 10am and knit for a worthy cause.
Computers and Technologies – The North Lakes Library
offers various classes and clubs for all ages, from beginners looking for some direction with their home computers, to young gamers looking to make friends. Students can take advantage of the libraries free research assistance and computer use, and there is even an introduction to smart phones for new owners. Check out the
