The best walking and jogging track in Brisbane
Hidden deep in the suburbs of Northern Brisbane is a series of walking and running paths that could be some of the best in suburban Australia. The North Lakes Environmental Park stretches from the Westfield North Lakes Shopping Centre, and carries you right through to the surburb of Rothwell. The park itself continues on to Hays Inlet. Along the way are a series of lakes, barbeque facilities and playgrounds, plus a few unpaved tracks that make for interesting detours. This paved walking and running track is extremely well maintained and mostly flat so it is perfect for people of all abilities.
You can join and exit the trail at almost any point. A lot of people choose to begin at Lake Eden next to Westfield, or at the dog park on Gardenia Parade. You can choose to walk any distance, from 1km to 20km. The best part? dogs are welcome on leads, creating a fantastic opportunity to exercise your furry friend.

What will you find along the way? Well the trail passes many interconnecting lakes, filled with amazing bird life. The occasional koala or wallaby has been spotted too. There are fantastic barbeque facilities at several locations, which are always clean and well maintained. There are also several playgrounds along the way, benches if you need to rest in the shade, and even drink fountains.
