This almost one-kilometre circular walk is quite interesting, houses on one side as it circumnavigates a sporting oval, tennis courts, playground, skate park and a strip of shops.

The Gateways begin just off Maroondah Highway with a large park area with picnic tables and a backdrop of a shopping strip. The shop at the north end of the shopping strip has a large mural along its sidewall.

One of the first garden ornaments seen was a small doggie with a welcome sign around its neck.

Two beautiful examples of roses were the pink Hungarian and red cinnamon. Three other specimens of roses were also seen.

Several bottlebrush bushes were on nature strips as were many deposits for a hard rubbish collection. Some of the deposits are of almost opportunity shop condition.

A currawong was fossicking on the ground before heading for the nearest tree on my approach. A crested pigeon was content to sit upon an overhead wire and watch the world and me go by.

Many oleander trees were in full bloom, both the red and white variety.

Some nice garden beds were evident, some with many small garden ornaments and one white picket fence.

Many wheelbarrows are experiencing an afterlife as mobile garden beds. A broken wagon wheel adds a rustic look to one garden.

About halfway into the walk a community skate park a playground and tennis courts are encountered adjacent to the sporting oval.

The main oval is named the Halley Supple Reserve.

Only one walker was seen as it was a rather hot day.

Overhead the noisy arrival of several rainbow lorikeets forced my camera tree wards.

Many agapanthus were flowering as were plumbago vines and numerous crepe myrtle trees.

Nearing the end of the circle walk, a vision of a car emerging from the earth manifested itself as the front end of a T Model Ford, which commemorates a true story of a T Model Ford buried under the Coldstream football ground. The item is part of the Coldstream Heritage Trail.

This is a rewarding walk if the cricketers are cricketing, the tennis players are playing and the skateboarders are skating. If not, just appreciate the birds and flowers.
