Buy your fresh fruit and veggies at these markets
This market will be held on the third Sunday of the month. The next market will be on Sunday 21st April 2019 from 8.00 am to 1.00 pm and after that on 19th May. They are held at Lincoln Park, Corner of Leake and Richardson Streets, Essendon.
Farmer's markets are always very popular and I usually buy my fruit and vegetables at one as they have generally not used nasty sprays to ward off insects. Organic fruit and vegetables are often sold at farmers' markets. They often do not look quite as good as those that are sprayed. however. I would far rather eat these than the better-looking ones which have poison in them!
The other thing about farmer's markets is that usually the fruit is much fresher than buying it in a large grocery store or even a fruit shop.
So if you want fresh, friendly plus local then come and enjoy a showcase of food direct from local growers, makers and producers. Each of their farmers' markets is a collection of carefully selected independent artisan stallholders. These stallholders represent the best of what is available in the local area in terms of food, drink, fresh seasonal produce, handcrafted products, homemade/baked goodies and music.
The market is a cash-based market and there is ample parking. Remember when you shop at these North Essendon farmers' markets you are supporting Victoria's farmers, makers, growers, brewers, producers, bakers, designers, musicians and the self-employed.
The North Essendon Farmers Market will be on at Lincoln Park regardless of the weather - in other words, rain, hail or shine these markets take place. Bring along your reusable baskets or bags so that you can buy any of the following:
