A local favourite you're gonna love
While it might not be the latest trendy cafe to open in the Essendon area, North & Eight has spent the last two years serving up some seriously good food to the locals who haven't been too willing to share this little gem.

Inside the bright and airy space, North & Eight offers up a great mix of healthy fare and some indulgent treats too. Think, superfood salads, coconut and chia puddings and acai bowls on the same menu as Oreo pancakes served with ice cream and you'll get the idea.

North & Eight also offers plenty of space to settle in, not too cramped and there's plenty of larger tables and window booths where you can come as a group. The atmosphere is buzzy and the staff are welcoming and it's the type of place you'd feel just as comfortable with a business meeting, brunch date catch up or taking mum out for a treat.

We sussed out the brunch menu and ordered the crispy zucchini, corn and quinoa fritters with poached egg, bacon, herbs, tahini yoghurt, avocado and lime salsa (above) and it was served up looking so pretty we *almost* didn't have the heart to eat it.

Next up was the shakshuka clay pot with poached eggs served with spiced tomato and capsicum sauce, tahini yoghurt and coriander served with Chorizo and toast for dipping of course (below). We weren't disappointed.

Coffee lovers will also be happy to know that North & Eight uses Proud Mary Coffee, a favourite among coffee connoisseurs. Hello cold drip and iced lattes just in time for Summer!

And if you can't stay and dine in (shame) or if you didn't have time to pack a lunch, there's also plenty of fresh takeaway options too.

It's kid friendly and offers a kids menu with choices such as ham and cheesy jaffles and egg, bacon and toast, so kids won't feel like they're missing out.

A bit of advice, we were told the hedgehog slices were amazing and so (even though we were actually full from breakfast) and were so glad we tried it. Do yourself a favour and order one. You're welcome.

Perfect for your afternoon teas, cake and coffee catch ups or event just a sugar hit to enjoy your coffee with as you sit solo on your laptop, North & Eight have a sweets case that also offers plenty of sugary options as well as a few healthier ones as well so you won't have to feel guilty afterwards the selection when we popped in pictured below!
