Ever thought of growing an orchid and not know how? The North Brisbane Orchid Society is holding their annual orchid show at the Mt Coot-tha Auditorium on Saturday 25th August 2018. The doors will open at 8.30am for all those early birds and concludes at 3.30pm.

Not only can you get some great tips on how to grow the best orchid, what to look for with pests and diseases, there will be plant sales, potting demonstrations, craft stalls and light refreshments at the event. Entry is $4.00 for adults and children under 14 years are free.

The scientific name for an orchid is Orchidaceae and are a diverse family of flowering plants that are often colourful and fragrant. Many brides choose orchids for their bouquets as they have a long staying power and do not wilt as do other flowers. They come in a wide spectrum of colours and sizes.

The Auditorium is situated in the Brisbane Botanic Gardens, 152 Mt Coot-tha Road, Toowong. No bookings are required for this event; however, if you would like more information please contact Anne Maloney on 07 3355 7175.
