Treat yourself to a sea of colour

This year is extra special for the North Brisbane Orchid Society as they will be celebrating their 50th Annual Spring Show on the 23rd and 24th of August. The show will take place in the auditorium at the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens.
Haven't been to an orchid show before? Then you will be amazed at the splash of colour that greets you as you enter the auditorium. A multitude of colours, shapes and sizes from big, beautiful blooms to the tiniest and most dainty little flowers are all there for your viewing pleasure. Entry to the show is $4 per person, no bookings required.
If you find yourself inspired to give orchid growing a try, you will be able to purchase plants on the day. A little tip though: get in early if you're planning to buy up on plants as sales are fast and furious! There will also be books on sale and plenty of free advice whether you're a beginner just getting started or a seasoned grower. A variety of arts and craft will also be on sale and the Society will be running raffles throughout the weekend.
Food and drinks will be available for morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. Rosa Muellegger, Vice President of the Society said, "I'm really excited about this Show and have been busily baking for the last few days."
