Just around the corner from
Spice 9 girl,
Norsiah's Kitchen is a small Carlton restaurant which serves Indonesian, Malaysian and Singaporean food for crazy-cheap prices.
To me this place felt like a no-frills student eatery, with meals served from bain maries canteen-style on trays etc. They were pretty busy when I stopped by for lunch today so I opted for take-away.
For $6 I was served a generous portion of rice with two vegetarian side dishes: I chose roasted eggplant, and bean shoots with soft, cubed tofu.
Here are the flavours I could taste:
But I enjoyed it anyway.
On taste, cost and experience I'd personally rate Norsiah's Kitchen just below
Minang Nasi Padang and
Nasi Lemak House, but Norsiah's was still well worth the cheap eat.
