One of the best places, I know for fun on New Year's Eve is way down south on the Fleurieu at Normanville, where the 21st Annual Normanville New Year's Eve Pageant will be celebrated. This non-for-profit FREE community event is made possible by the District Council of Yankalilla.

Visitors are invited to join along with local residents, friends, community clubs and groups and participate in this marvellous fun event. You are encouraged to get into your costumes and/or create your own float (even by decorating the family car) and take part in the fun with approximately 40 colourful floats. The only limit is your imagination. The event's objective is to have fun in a family-friendly environment.

Following the pageant, at about 9.45 the evening's finale is an impressive fireworks display on the foreshore at Normanville.

Lisa Pearson, Tourism and Events Manager, at the Yankalilla Information Centre said, "
participating or simply watching the pageant is an exciting occasion as you see the joy it gives the children and the smiles and laughter it brings to their faces. You may be surprised to hear that it is not just the locals who join in our Pageant to make it the giant success it is. We see regular visitors staying locally over the Christmas and New Year and they keep coming back every year because they enjoy the family fun atmosphere We encourage visitors, families, individuals, local businesses to band together and enter a float and make our 21st Pageant our best ever!"
