The unique mirror-image surface reflections of the Upper Noosa River are a result of dark tannin-stained waters. This eerie combination provides a striking backdrop for your next kayak or canoe adventure. If you embark on an early morning trip like we did, you may get to see the mist roll across the black water as the sun rises. Pack a camera for some memorable photos.
The Upper Noosa River runs through the Noosa National Park. The river can be accessed as a day trip, or you may wish to camp overnight at the nearby Harry's Hut Campground. Canoes and kayaks can be launched from Elanda Point or Harry's camping and day-use areas.
