Dogs on surfboards. It doesn't get much cuter than that. It's just one of many events planned for this year's Noosa Festival Of Surfing 2013 this March. The surf's definitely up, but not as you know it.



Noosa Festival of Surfing is hitching a ride back to the Sunshine Coast from March 10 to 16. The 2013 event is the 22nd annual edition of the event and you don't come back that many times without something worth seeing - and they've got plenty on offer this year.



As I mentioned earlier, dogs surfing with their owners is one of the must see events out here. The VetshopAustralia.com.au Dog Surfing Spectacular in the past has always been just fun and games, but in 2013 they're making this a full blown competition. May the best dog win.



For the humans, there's still plenty to do. In fact, there are more than 20 professional, amateur, specialty and team surfing events to be part of. The world's best longboarders will be on show in four money events, along with team events and stand up paddle boarding division. Headline event the Logger Pro should be a crowd pleaser once again, with style masters of longboarding taking to the waves on traditional old-style single-fin loggers. There will also be a stand up paddle mini festival, a surfing adventure for disadvantaged and disabled kids and much more. In total, more than 500 competitors are expected, with as many as 5000 spectators from around the world. tagging along.



There's also plenty to do out of the water. Those interested in the origins and growth of surfing will find plenty to read, watch and listen to at the festival. There will be words, music, movies, photographs and arts as well as leading documentaries exploring the rich surfing history of Noosa and the Sunshine Coast. And of course, surfing all day also works up a bit of a thirst. The XXXX Summer Bright Lager Beach Bar will be open each day of the Festival during afternoon and sundown hours.



It's running all week, so there's plenty to see and do at Noosa. Come and hang out on the Sunshine Coast's greatest surfing location, see some future stars in the making, and maybe even learn a thing or two. Plus, dogs on surfboards, you just can't beat it.
