The Noosa Show has a tradition that dates back to 1909 and is now in its 105th year.

Held over two days on Friday 12th and Saturday 13th September at the Pomona Showground in the Noosa hinterland, the Noosa Show is an important event on the Noosa calendar and one that brings people from all over the Sunshine Coast and surrounds. It is one of Queensland's premier traditional country shows.& #8203 ;

Many of the show competition events start at 9.30am and go throughout the day. For those with stamina to start early and make it to nightfall the rewards are great. Friday night features fireworks, while Saturday night is the rodeo.

The main stage has entertainment throughout the day. The definite highlight is Angry Anderson and the All Star Band on Friday night at 6.30pm.

The highlight Saturday night is Monster Trucks on at 5.30pm.

Featuring woodchopping, two full days of horse events, dog competition and showing of creative craft, cookery, art, photography, fruits and vegetables, horticulture and wood and leather craft. Schedules and entrant information for the horse events, cattle and dog judging, and all other competitions are available from the website .

On top of all of the fantastic animals, displays and competitions, there is of course, the rides, sideshow entertainment, showbags and animal nursery.

The fun doesn't end there, scattered around the grounds will be Mooving Ballooning, sheep shearing, reptile awareness, laser assault, kids with clay and bucking bull ride.

For the adults, food and wine tasting is available featuring local products. Exhibitors from businesses in the community will be there over the weekend promoting and selling their local goods.

Wandering around on the day will be Miss Noosa Showgirl, a title given not for outward beauty or brains, but to the young lady who best represents and supports the profile of the Noosa Country Show.

The Noosa Show really does have something for everyone and is a really big show. Going over two days with spectacular events each night, this show is a must for families and makes a fantastic day trip from the city.

If you wish to skip the line at the gate on the day, pre-purchased armbands can be bought at the Secretary's Office on the showgrounds.

How to get there

Held at the Pomona Showgrounds, Exhibition Street, Pomona.

From Brisbane, take the Bruce Highway towards the Sunshine Coast. Just past Cooroy, still on the Bruce Highway, take Pioneer Road, Black Mountain turn off. Follow the signs to Pomona Connection Road, Pomona. Follow the Noosa Show signs to Exhibition Street, Pomona.

Caravans and Camping overnight
Noosa Show Society owns and operates the Pomona Caravan Park adjacent to the showground (entrance from Pavilion Street). There is a limited number of sites available which must be booked in advance through the Caravan Park Manager, phone (07) 5485 1477.
