Hidden away in Earl St in Tewantin is a very exciting community project, the community garden. On the land, there is a beautiful old restored home that was relocated to the site and is owned by the Rotary club. Both Rotary and the community garden members share the use of the house.


There are about 50 core members of the community garden group with maybe 20 regulars. You don't have to know lots about gardening to be a member. Just go along and enjoy the support, friendship, produce, and good times. A great way to make new friends.


On Wednesdays, they hold wine and weed sessions (I wonder how much weeding gets done) and on Fridays, it's a general gathering to attend to the gardens. Special social gatherings are also arranged.



Plant sales to the public are also held. A great variety of vegetables and herbs are grown by the members and it's all organic too. Bonus! It's always so comforting to be able to eat what you grow yourself. For more information: 0478608680.
