I love slow travel, slow food and discovering new adventures and delicious regional food in new locations. I'm on an indulgent quest and I'd love you to follow at https://www.facebook.com/walkeatshare

Why not bring a good book and settle in?
You'd be excused for not yet having discovered Nook Cafe in Seminyak. It's tucked away down a small connecting road off Jalan Petitenget, right next to a rice paddy.

It's a quiet little haven away from the bustling main roads and honking taxis of Seminyak and Kerobokan, with scrubbed tables and cozy cushions enticing you to spend time here.

Not sure how long the rice field view will last since the urban sprawl is heading North at a frantic pace. My suggestion is you get yourself to a Nook table with a view sooner rather than later.

The menu is perhaps best described as Asian Fusion. There are warung favourites, both Balinese and Indonesian along with Western style sandwiches, burgers and pastas.

I have enjoyed the Nasi Campur here on a few occasions. It's a generous serve of coconut beef, chicken, tofu, tempeh, egg, anchovies, satay, and kang kong for only Rp37,000.

My favourite, however, is the grilled chicken salad with cashew nuts and strawberries for Rp49,000. I enjoy it with a glass of wine although there are some refreshing juices and squashes available as well as the ubiquitous Bintang Beer.

And did I mention cocktails? Nook is a perfect setting to enjoy an early evening cocktail.

Nook is open from 8am till 11pm every day. You can start with a delicious fruit parfait for breakfast, enjoy a salad for lunch, start the evening with a cocktail and consider nasi campur or a pasta dish for dinner. Oh, and they make a delicious, strong Balinese coffee.
