Walk the Trestle Bridge

The Trestle Bridge is a historic wooden bridge which is a remnant from the former glory days of the Railway from a bygone era.

The train line was constructed between 1917 and 1919. The bridge was one of the biggest of its kind in the area and was primarily used to transport timber from the forests in and around Noojee.

The Railway closed in 1954. The Information Board located at the Trestle Bridge site provides lots of interesting historical information also.

There is a track which traces the former railway train line which can be walked along for 1 kilometre before it reaches private property. The track will require good comfortable walking shoes.

There is lots of lush fernery and lovely trees to admire while standing on top of the Trestle Bridge. There are now guard rails each side of the bridge for extra safety.

An interesting fact regarding this bridge in more recent years is that the bridge was used as a venue for hosting the "Worlds Longest Lunch" in 2005.
