Fast, Friendly and Eaten in a Frenzy
This restaurant came with the highest of recommendations from one of my fussy adult sons who said that Nongkhai Thai cook the best Thai food he had ever eaten. My youngest son and I decided we had to test it out.

We didn't come for the service but it is notable. A friendly waitress adorned in a lovely traditional costume greeted us at the door with. The food was delivered very fast. We ordered and had been served in 10 minutes. If we wished we could've eaten and been out with in half an hour.

The food was served with edible flowers and carved carriage decorations, which my son found amusing and entertaining.

The serving sizes are very generous and the food inexpensive. For example vegetable curry from $13.90 take away or $16.90 eat in. Add $2 for chicken or beef. Rice was only $2.50.

Soup starts at $6.90 and entrees such as curry puffs also $6.90. Salads, curries, fish, grilled, claypot, noodle and rice dishes are available.

This was the first time we have deviated from ordering pad Thai. This time we selected a vegetable noodle and tofu dish with chili, which we really enjoyed. The spiciness of the dishes can be very upon request.

I noticed that four of the five of the tables had children dining. Despite this and that by the end of the midweek night the restaurant was almost full, it was a very quiet restaurant.

So the verdict is confirmed. In our house we think this is the best Thai around.

Nongkhai Thai are open seven nights from 5 PM to 10 PM. They are licensed and BYO wine only and cater for vegetarians and serve gluten free meals.
