See the Blue Mountains in a new light. A light of illuminated nocturnal magic! This is a chance to experience Scenic World like never before as holograms, light installations, and ambient sounds transform the rainforest and bring the valley to life.

Nocturnal is an all-new immersive nighttime experience. Imagine photographic native creatures, projection mapping across ancient rock formations, and an illuminated interpretation of the forest's secret language.



Running until 11 May, this year’s extended season of Nocturnal promises an all-new mesmerising sensory experience curated by Laservision to celebrate the native animals and plants of the Blue Mountains and Scenic World’s 80th anniversary in 2025.

Nocturnal 2025 is a sensory journey inspired by the unique landscape and wildlife of the World Heritage-listed Blue Mountains and Gundungurra Country. It celebrates the engineering marvels of Scenic World’s iconic rides, such as the world’s steepest railway and Australia’s first cable car.



New highlights and returning crowd favourites include seeing the Three Sisters lit up against the darkness of the National Park, a holographic lyrebird basking in the moonlight, a forest walk illuminating the secret language of trees, and light projections inspired by the local landscape and history.

You can also descend into the dark night on the world’s steepest railway and glide above the canopy and amongst the cliffs on towering cable cars.

Nocturnal tickets start from $54.90 for adults and $40.90 for kids. Kids under three go free!

All Nocturnal tickets include rides on the Scenic Railway, Skyway, Cableway and the illuminated rainforest walk. The Nocturnal child ticket also includes a special Nocturnal quest to uncover hidden clues to the Gundungurra Story of Creation.

Snack options include roasting your own marshmallows and sipping hot chocolate by the fire pits.

While the event was held last year, this year's Nocturnal is fresh with all-new immersive light displays and installations. Like last year, you can still ride all three rides at night.

While you can drive and park, those who opt for the Nocturnal Saver Pass can catch public transport to Katoomba and then jump on the complimentary shuttle bus to bring them to and from Scenic World.
