I like to participate in life rather than be a spectator. Music, dancing, theatre, travelling, food, cycling and walking are some of my passions. Writing is an enjoyable pastime that allows me to share my experiences.

As COVID-19 restrictions ease, some restaurants have opened to serve ten patrons at a session. We recently enjoyed a three-course lunch at
Noah's opposite Newcastle Beach on a beautiful sunny day. They are offering all-day dining from
breakfast through to dinner in two-hour blocks. Reservations are vital as only ten people can dine at a time according to current government guidelines.

Although the pared-down decor and lack of furniture altered the overall ambience, it just felt so good to be eating out again. The
lunch/dinner menu offers a variety of good value and tasty dishes. The 'Crystal Bay' prawn cocktail tasted as good as it looked and was a great start to our meal.

The seafood chowder was full of flavour, hearty and warming. The duck and beef dishes were equally delicious and although quite full, we were tempted by the dessert menu and the novelty of restaurant dining.

The Belgian chocolate brownie was rich but the flavours were well balanced by the macadamia ice cream and tangy candied berries. The espresso brûlée was amazing and the perfect finale to our meal.
