While on a quest to finding variety of choice in all matters related to food for vegetarians, I found a store solely dedicated to vegetarians and health food lovers. It was in fact a whole mini market dedicated to vegetarians. Nj45 is a store stacked with all kinds of foods of vegetarian and vegan selection that would undoubtedly have the ability to satisfy even the most stringent Vegan. It is situated in Rouse Hill, not too far from the Rouse Hill town center. Nj45 is dedicated to offering a wide variety of food options to support life style choices of the non meat eater. The manager of the store, Les Moodly, is ever so present providing the customer with useful information about the products available in his store and is happy to answer any questions you may have.

The store packs everything needed for a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle. The store has a wide choice of herbal blends of teas, some new and some made according to ancient recipes. As an ardent tea lover myself I scaled the racks looking for something new or unique to try. One of my choices which came highly recommended by Les was the ginger tea with brown sugar. The taste of the tea brought back memories from back home where my grandmother made a ginger tea with a punch. I was delighted that it was possible to taste some of the teas before purchasing. Burdock tea from China was such an option that I tried, liked and bought.

Vegan and vegetarian delights are well stocked in their freezers. From vegetarian prawns, vegetarian meatballs, vegetarian sausages, all kinds of soya products, and many more "mock" products. You name it, Nj45 has it. There is also a wide variety of snack foods available from cookies to chips and drinks to delight you. Browsing through what is available I discovered a whole shelf dedicated to baking and cake mixes, all gluten free.

For those of us who cook with spices the store has their own blend of hot spicy powder for curries too. This is based on a selection of spices ordinating from Les's home country of South Africa. If you are after this South African style curry powder it is best to ask Les as it is hidden inside a freezer to keep the roasted spicy aroma from escaping. After coming home and cooking with it I highly recommend the spicy curry powder for those who are not afraid to try an extra spicy and aromatic curry.

Happy with the find I walked out of the mini market with a bag stuffed with curry powder, a selection of teas and coconut cookies. If you are a vegetarian or a vegan from the hills or anywhere else in Sydney, Nj45 is the store for you.
