A Science Experiment you can Eat
Having a sweet tooth to rival Willie Wonka's, I don't need much persuading when it comes to trying new desserts, so when I chanced upon Nitrogenie while walking through Southbank one morning, I couldn't wait to come back during opening hours.
Nitrogenie has embraced the era of molecular gastronomy by using liquid nitrogen in its ice cream preparation. Having failed chemistry at school the concept alludes me however on the day I visited, I oohed and ahhed at the puffy nitrogen clouds gathered around the mountains of pastel deliciousness.
Deciding that science was pretty cool I set about moving onto important matters--the flavours. With Fig & Honey, Eumundi Strawberry & Basil, and Brown Sugar & White Miso on the menu you would be forgiven for thinking you had entered a gourmet deli rather than an ice cream shop.
