There is certainly a new wave in online shopping which includes an abundance of fantastic coupon deals designed to help you purchase things you would normally deliberate over for days, weeks or even years.
I bought a one month unlimited pass to a local gym, Ninth Wave Fitness for just $29 which includes 4 x 60-minute group training sessions (max 5pax) with a personal trainer.
Preparing myself for a 15 day trek in Nepal in April, I jumped at the offer and was one of the first to redeem it. First come, best dressed goes the old saying and I definitely felt a sense of this during my first visit. I was able to choose a time for the next four weeks for the group sessions. (Ten o'clock Tuesday mornings for anyone who like to join in).
Greeted by owner Mat and his assistant Johno, I was set up in the system and had the whole deal explained in detail to me. After telling them of my fitness requirements, I was given appropriate advice on how best to prepare for my trek to Annapurna Base Camp – 4,130m.
It didn't stop there - my progress was followed and I was monitored and encouraged through the first half hour on a walking machine using weights at the same time to really get my heart pumping. Then 3 sets of ten on two hard core leg machines - ouch!
It was lucky for me that this being an new gym open only 5-6 weeks, there were only a few patrons on site, so I got an adhoc personal training session.
All equipment is state-of-art. The layout is functional and orderly and help is readily available. It's a relaxed and real environment where it feels okay to be working towards improving your fitness level. It is friendly and small enough to interact with other members during your session.
The one month voucher will end two weeks before my trip, so I inquired about the cost of two weeks membership and was very surprised to find the weekly membership fee for unlimited use of the gym is only $30 and has no contract.
I have already recommended a personal friend of mine and I would recommend it to anyone serious about their health and fitness.
