Making the Minsky brothers proud
"Hot can be cool, and cool can be hot, and each can be both. But hot or cool, man, jazz is jazz." - Louis Armstrong

Adelaide's city bar scene just stepped it up a notch with the brand spanking new Speakeasy bar Nineteen Ten Mr. Minsky's Burlesque & Jazz Club. Inspired by the Broadway burlesque clubs by The Minsky brothers in the early 1900s, Nineteen Ten hopes to inject a sense of mystery, versatility, and glamour that will revolutionize the way the Adelaide party scene on Hindley Street operates.

Right from the first step, guests at the bar launch were treated to a VIP affair, which included a short and sweet ride up a glass elevator, and upon reaching the rooftop, were welcomed by a timeless beauty, who briefly gave us the rundown of how the night was going to be unforgettable and memorable for all the right reasons!

A beautiful rooftop bar that has been fitted with all the quirky elements, such as a prohibition-era bathtub with feature waterfalls, a purple illuminated, turquoise tiled swimming pool (the first of its kind in a licensed venue!), and lush greenery surrounding the bar space and the social spaces, Nineteen Ten hopes to provide its guests with a unique experience and set a bar (pun intended) on the trend of licensed rooftop entertainment in Adelaide.

There are some serious vaudeville styles that decorate the rooftop bar. Elements around live jazz music thanks to in-house jazz band Blind Tiger (who will be performing on Thursday nights) and breathtaking movement through a team of burlesque performers on Friday and Saturday nights, who are bound to wow the audience will shake up the way you enjoy the Adelaide nightlife.

Staying true to their theme, Mr. Minsky will be paying homage to the classics through their selective range of cocktails with equally intriguing names - Roxanne and Charlie Chaplin to name a few. Quenching your thirst with their exquisite and special combinations of the best and complementary styles of booze, it won't be long before you feel like you've been transported back in time to the good ol' 1900s!

With a small and cozy space, Nineteen Ten can entertain up to 50 guests at a time, so be prepared for a truly intimate yet social ambience, whilst overlooking the Adelaide nightlife and cityscape from their quaint rooftop.

Special thanks to the team at Nineteen Ten Mr. Minsky's Burlesque & Jazz Club for their hospitality and to Cassie Young from Be Young PR for the invite to the launch event.
