Look no further for the perfect place to relax, eat & drink
Grab your picnic rugs and your family and friends because a beautiful new winery has opened in the Swan Valley!
Nikola Estate Winery opened quietly on December 6th, just in time for the festive season. Previously Houghton Winery, the estate boasts beautifully large grounds, shaded by heritage listed jacaranda trees; a cafe, cellar door and a museum.
In fact, for Australian history buffs, bushranger Moondyne Joe was captured stealing wine from their cellars in 1869! There is also the heritage listed Crofters Homestead built in 1863 to explore and further information housed inside the museum.
If history doesn't interest you, don't despair. There is a cellar door with your name on it and a cafe serving up delectable dishes with outdoor dining underneath the vineyards.
Delicious food available at Nikola Estate restaurant
While this is a new winery, the owners are far from inexperienced. The Yukich family have been Swan Valley locals for more than 90 years and have three generations of farming and viticulture experience. The family also own Oakover Grounds, European Foods and FiORi Coffee, so you know you're in safe hands with the food and wine offering.
While the opening was relatively quiet, don't expect this to continue, with a number of exciting events planned early next week, kicking off with Daryl Braithwaite and Sounds in The Valley in February!
