I love writing about eating and travelling and have other things to share on here and on my Facebook.
If there is something better than a bed of tulips by day, it is the well lit garden of tulips by night. Floriade is a celebration of spring and one of the biggest flower festivals in Australia with more than a million blooms. Nightfest, will be held as a part of this month long flower festival from 22nd September till 26th September, between 6:30 pm and 10:30 pm at Commonwealth park, Canberra.

Apart from the beauty of the tulips and flowers by night, the festival boasts of live entertainment, shopping/markets, giant ferris wheel by night and pubs and bars. There will be a stylish glow bar too. There will be food stalls serving local gourmet food and free wine tasting too.

For entertainment, there is a large outdoor cinema with an inflatable screen playing movies including new releases. The movie sessions begin at 7:45 PM nightly and the schedule can be checked out here. The carnival stage being set up will host entertainers, stand up comedians, acrobatics and magic shows.

There is plenty of entertainment for children too that include the Bowral Farmyard Friends and the National Zoo & Aquarium's Riveting Reptiles presentations. Children can also enjoy the carnival rides including spinning tea cups & giant slides. Another highlight is the beautifully lit ferris wheel with a wonderful view of Canberra from its top.

Tickets for Nightfest Floriade can be purchased here. The ticket costs are $20 for an adult and $10 for children.
