On Thursday 15 October at 6:30 pm, Space2b presents 'Now Moving Forward' - a night of storytelling with Abe Nouk, Julian Burnside and Ee'da about the contribution that refugees and asylum seekers make to Australia today.
Abe Nouk arrived in Australia from Sudan in 2004 and has become a hip-hop artist, a finalist in the Australian Poety Slam and self-published author, as well as founding Creative Rebellion Youth.
Ee'da is a musician, spoken word performer, arts educator whom found 'Sisters for Sisters' a women's arts and music collective.
Julian Burnside is Australia's number one Human Rights Lawyer and a recipient of the Order of Australia medal for his service to asylum seekers and refugee.
'Now Moving Forward' is an initiative of Space2b, an art and design social enterprise that supports migrants and refugees to become financially independent through creative enterprise, workplace training and business mentoring.
Space2b provides a retail outlet, gallery, design studio, workshop, training centre and small business hub and seeks seed funding to open up a Pop-Up space permanently. Designers from Space 2b will sell their work and delicious food on the night.
