A stay at home Mum who doesn't stay at home much; too many exciting things to be discovering in this city...
Landlubbers beware tall tales and seafaring stories
Hoist the main sail and man the helm! It's time for some macabre maritime action on the Polly Woodside. Every Wednesday and Thursday night in February (and the remaining Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays in January), the tall ship Polly Woodside will become the stage for an intriguing theatrical production known as 'The Night Watch'.
One of Polly Woodside's motley crew will be your host for the evening
This twilight performance will take you far into the fathoms of seafaring history and the cargo ship's sinister past since it was launched over one hundred years ago. Through the interactive show, you will learn secrets about the vessel itself and find out what fate might befall you if you mess with the superstitions of sailors...
Follow the able seaman on duty as his lantern guides you below decks into gloomy corners and you hear his grim accounts of life at sea and the mysterious happenings on Polly Woodside.
The Night Watch is presented on the Polly Woodside, docked at South Wharf and is run by National Trust Victoria - National Trust members will enjoy a 20% discount on the $38 ticket price. Any brave souls over 12 years are invited to take part if they think they can handle it. Pack your sea legs and make sure you're onboard by 8.30pm for the hour long tour.
