Night of the Living Bin Chicken, written and directed by Adam McDowell, who also plays the character of Leslie Leslie in the film, is a hilarious short horror-comedy musical, with nods to Romero's Night of the Living Dead, Hitchcock's The Birds and Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cats The Musical. It is sure to burst its way into the hearts of fans of trashy B-grade horror everywhere.
Filmed and set in Perth, Western Australia, Mike Burd, played by Daniel R. Ward and his brother Lachy Burd, played by Samuel Maynard-Brewer (both known for their parts in the 2019 short sci-fi-drama Acid Dreams) are just getting back into the city, after a long drive home across the Nullarbor. It's a pretty average ride home until they run over some ibis birds and crash soon after, leading to Mike waking up in the middle of an unknown apocalypse and his brother is nowhere to be seen.
He soon finds himself barricaded in with a bizarre couple, Leslie (McDowell) and Martha Leslie, played by Jennah Bannear (The Heights), who is heavily pregnant. Both McDowell and Bannear's characters are hilariously played with their awkward and cringe-worthy antics, even breaking into a full-on musical number, complete with backup dancers!
All the excellent music in this film is composed by Jarrod Lockwood.
