Classic Italian food and a warm family environment await you at Nick's Italian Restaurant. Its setting in a small strip mall in North Scottsdale makes you feel like you found a wonderful secret once you enter. Posters of Italian movies and large black and white photos adorn the walls. The close-together tables give a cozy feel of a family gathering but the restaurant is not too noisy to have a conversation. A small patio out front has iron railing, turf flooring and heat lamps to create a retreat off the parking lot.
The wine list offers mainly Italian wines with a few other locations represented. I typically elect one of their Chianti choices and am not disappointed. A basket of bread, focaccia and rolls shows up quickly. It is difficult not to fill up on their delicious bread dipped in olive oil.
The menu consists mainly of classic Italian comfort food. I can't resist the cheese and spinach ravioli smothered in a robust marinara. There is the perfect amount to feel full but not stuffed. Nick's offers an extensive menu of over 25 pasta dishes, as well as all types of pizza and calzones. If you are accustomed to the standard Italian meat course, you also have over 20 choices of chicken, veal, and seafood.
The Homemade Chocolate-Chip Cannoli brings a perfect end to your meal. You can also choose homemade cheesecake or tiramisu or one of several flavors of ice cream and sorbet. And of course, an espresso, cappuccino, or latte is a must, served in a dainty glass mug.
For delicious classic Italian food in a warm comfortable environment, dine at Nick's Italian Restaurant. Visit one of their three North Scottsdale and Phoenix locations.
