Motto: Have a plan and be prepared.
Event:
With Carnival Open for All

It's time to get slimed at Nickelodeon's annual Slimefest. You might want to wear green to this family-friendly music festival as no one close to the action is getting away unscathed. Organisers have promised this is going to be the biggest and best festival yet, with shows featuring some of the best live musical performers in Australia and beyond. Plus - there is going to be an outdoor carnival situated adjacent to the venue for everyone to enjoy.

The Nickelodeon Slimefest has it all – some huge Australian & visiting International music artists, live performances, stunts and, of course, tons of Nickelodeon's trademark green slime.

Hosted by Delta Goodrem, the headline act at this year's Nickelodeon Slimefest will be OMI, supported by Havana Brown and International act G.R.L as well as boy band Stereo. Featured DJ's will include Mashd N Kutcher and US YouTubers Kian & JC.

Then there's the carnival. Next to the festival venue, the carnival will be open both before and after the shows with rides, food, drinks, merchandise and plenty more entertainment. The carnival area is FREE and open, not just to ticket holders, but to the general public, too.

Nickelodeon's annual Slimefest 2016

Slimefest 2016 is being held on Sunday 25th September 2016 at the Margaret Court Arena, Melbourne Park, Batman Avenue, Melbourne. The Festival area will be open from 9am to 9pm.

Show 1 starts at 11am and finishes at approximately 12.30pm, while Show 2 starts at 6pm and finishes at roughly 7.30pm. The format for both shows will be the same, with the same advertised performers, however there may be some unannounced special guests who can only attend one of the shows.

There are three ticket options.
The Premium Mosh is a KIDS-ONLY SLIME ZONE. Kids must be over 140cm tall and cannot enter with an adult. This is for kids only! Get it? Tickets for the Premium Mosh start at $130.09. (Warning: This is a slime zone!)

The Standing Floor is for both kids and adults. It is best suited to kids aged 8 to 15 years, also with a minimum height of 140cm. Even though you may enter together, there is an allocated 'adult area' in the back where parents can be seen and not heard (so they don't embarrass anybody). Tickets to the Standing Floor start at $73. (There is a high probability of being slimed here…. The adult area should be safe.)

The Reserved Seating Area is for everybody – particularly smaller and younger children, and families who wish to stay together. Tickets here range from $50.52 for C Reserve, $62.80, for B Reserve ad $73 for A Reserve. (This is a slime-free zone)

Please Note: Height restrictions are for safety reasons. They will be strictly applied at the venue, so please ensure you purchase the correct tickets!

If you would like to meet with your favourite celebrity and have them pose for an Instagram pic with you, be sure and purchase a Meet & Greet ticket for that once-in-a-lifetime experience. Details are on the Ticketek website when you go to book.

Tickets can be purchased through Ticketek and the Nickelodeon Slimefest website will bounce you there.

Where is the best place to get slimed? Certainly the Premium Mosh area - it is almost guaranteed. The Standing Floor is classified as a slime zone as there will be some coverage. But not everyone will be slimed, especially in the adult standing area at the back. They just make a narrow escape. The Reserved Seating area is a totally slime-free zone.

You can wear whatever you like, and dress-ups are encouraged, but unless you want to travel home looking like you've been drenched in boogers courtesy of a giant with a pretty severe head cold, a change of clothes is advisable.
