A pleasant ambience of friendliness, acceptance and relief awaits you at Carlton North's Nichols Food and Wine Bar. Much like the Kit Kat Club in the 1972 movie Cabaret, this place is all about chilling out and, in the words of Emcee, "leaving your problems outside."
Named after the prefix of its street, Nichols Food and Wine Bar is rather basic and original in setting. Downstairs you have the casual wine sipping and chatting, as well as several nibbles; upstairs tends to be a more formal atmosphere with a bar and traditional contemporary Australian cuisine. There's nothing like a juicy porterhouse steak and a pot of beer.
Parking outside this restaurant comes in decent supply, so there's no need to be there first in, best dressed. Well, perhaps make the effort to be best dressed, although neat casual attire is most likely the only thing needed, judging by the super laidback environment.
