I am an academic and writer living in Melbourne. I love to travel and I also love writing about all the things Melbourne, regional Victoria and other parts of Australia have to offer.
Calling children would-be artists
If you are looking for art activities for your children the NGV Kids Summer Festival may be just the place to satisfy their creative and artistic leanings. This year's festival focuses on the theme of Make Believe and children can come along with family, friends, parents or grandparents to enjoy these free hands-on activities and workshops.
The festival will take place at NGV Australia and NGV International in the week of 05/01/2019 to 13/01/2019 from 10 am - 5 pm. Activities and times vary each day so please check out the full program of activities here.
For teens, there will be an artist-led program exploring ways to get playful with portrait making and families can also explore the NGV Collection at both venues with a series of interactive, guided trails.
Locations for the NGV are: NGV International 180 St Kilda Road, Melbourne
NGV Australia Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia Federation Square Cnr Russell and Flinders streets
The NGV Kids Festival is a free event and bookings are not required.
