A rare one-off performance

ARIA-nominated, First Nations, neo-soul star Ngaiire is performing a special one night only event with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra on Saturday 18 March 2023 at Hamer Hall. Tickets are now on sale.

Ngaiire x MSO will bring together Ngaiire's dazzling, futuristic R&B sound and the symphonic might of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Nicholas Buc.

The performance will draw on her career and latest album - the critically-acclaimed epic 3 - arranged for orchestra by award-winning composer Alex Turley, for an all-out concert featuring soulful pop bangers.

Hailing from the Eastern Highlands and New Ireland provinces of Papua New Guinea, Ngaiire came to national attention as a contestant on Australian Idol. Since then, she has built an impressive career that defies genre and expectations. Ngaiire's innovative fusion of electronic neo-soul, gospel and R&B pop - filtered through her experiences as a First Nations woman - has seen her garner multiple award nominations and perform alongside the likes of Alicia Keys, Flume, Hiatus Kaiyote, Leon Bridges and Sufjan Stevens.

Ngaiire's most recent award-winning album 3 is a visual and musical exploration into experiences of journeying to her ancestral villages in Papua New Guinea. More than 5000 people clambered for tickets to her recent performance with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, making Ngaiire's MSO debut one of the most anticipated concerts of the year.
