Next Generation Art Prize 2022 - Call for Submissions

Applications are now open for young artists living in the Moreton Bay/Bribie Island region to get involved in the Next Generation Art Prize 2022. This online visual art competition, presented by the Bribie Island Community Arts Society, is for young people aged 7 to 18 years.

While the theme of the Prize in 2022 is to highlight the community's environmental and sustainability endeavours there are no restrictions on the subject or medium artists can use to create their works.

Prizes are aplenty and total $4,150 to be awarded over five age groups and for:
  • 2D: Any subject, medium creating a two-dimensional wall-hanging work.
  • 3D: Any subject, medium creating a three–dimensional free-standing work.

  • Included in the total prize pool with be awards for:
  • BIEPA: Recycled Materials Award. A work made predominantly from recycled materials.
  • People's Choice Prize: The Bribie Bowls Club will award this prize at the close of the exhibition from votes received by visitors.
  • Pacific Harbour Golf and Country Club: Will grant a total of three Junior Membership Awards as chosen by an independent judge from all five age groups and different media categories.

  • Acceptance of entries will close on Sunday, 14 August, 2022.

    An entry fee of $6 applies to each entry.

    Judging will be held on Tuesday, 23 August for all entries to be displayed in the Exhibition commencing on Wednesday 24 August and running through to Sunday 11 September, 2022.

    Host for the Next Generation Art Prize 2022 is the Bribie Island Community Arts Centre which is mostly run by dedicated volunteers who observe the Centre's mission where creativity, social connectivity and community flourishes, while visitors and friends of all ages discover, share and grow artistic skills and inspiration.
