...3 2 1! It's almost 2016! Everyone is preparing for New Years since it is right around the corner. Parties are being planned and snacks and beverages are being stocked up.
There are many ways to spend New Year's Eve from partying with friends to watching The Lord of the Rings trilogy. There's no wrong way to spend this special night, but a favorite tradition of mine has always been playing board games with family.
If you're someone who enjoys spending New Years at your house with close friends or if you're someone who heads to a big party and you want to bring something extra fun to do then boards games might be the perfect thing for you.
Some of the best board games for groups are:
Monopoly- this famous board game is pure fun. It has many versions, one example is Dog-opoly. Not only is it enjoyable and easy, it also teaches young and old alike the strategies of buying and selling real estate, managing properties and money wisely.
Balderdash- this is a great one. There are many different versions, but the traditional one gives you a word and you have to come up with your own definition for it. Once everyone has written a definition they give them all to one person and all the definitions are read, including the right one, which the person reading them wrote down. Everyone votes for the one they think is right. While having the board is preferable, it isn't necessary. You can also just use a dictionary and paper if the board is unavailable to you. Here is a scoring guide if you play without the board. This is one of the best bluffing games out there.
