Newport Jazz Festival is the newest, smallest, most accessible, and most affordable of all the Festivals, entirely run by volunteers from Melbourne Jazz Jammers.

2025 marks its 5th anniversary and all are welcome to come down and join in the fabulous festivities! Held from Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th May 2025, this year's event will play host to 44 bands playing in the Newport Bowls Club, The Back Room, The Community Hub and the Scout Hall, all around Paine's Reserve, Newport - just 200 yards from the train station, 6 km from the Melbourne CBD, and a million miles from your nearest worry!

The stellar 2025 programme is headlined by:

The Pearly Shells will get the party started on Friday night! Regarded as one of Melbourne's best Swing Jazz and RnB bands, The Pearly Shells promise to get the party started!

Bob Sedergreen returns with Ash Gaudion in the Saturday line-up. Bob packed out several shows last year. Bob will also team with Adam Rudegeair: two hot pianos!

Joys Njambi: her first Newport: a little bit soul, and a little bit funk, a whole lot of jazz: backed by the Adam Rudegeair Trio.

Sarah Maclaine: Everyone's favourite vocalist Sarah Maclaine, alongside Todd Sidney leading a hot band, will wrap up the festival on Sunday evening.

PLUS 38 bands ranging from funky little duos to big bands will be playing more trad, swing tunes, bebop, contemporary, and big band numbers than you can listen to in a weekend!

All are welcome to come along to this 'country town style' festival in Melbourne in May! Thanks to the enthusiastic support of Hobsons Bay City Council, the festival has grown bigger and better every year and welcomes thousands of music fans from across the state and beyond!

A weekend pass is $84, a Friday session for $30, and a day pass for either Saturday or Sunday for $54. Concession discounts are also available.
