Prepare your tastebuds, and your Instagram feed, for these trending new taste sensations that come complete with their own hashtag... Introducing some of the weird and wonderful fad food creations debuting at the Sydney Royal Easter Show in 2019.

The coolest new kid in town this year would have to be Melbourne-based pop-up ice cream store, 196below . Specialising in made to order liquid nitrogen ice creams and desserts, they will be bringing their artisan ice cream treats to the Food Truck Feedlot at this year's show. On offer will be unique flavour combinations and toppings, such as Smash Pav, Choc Oreo Smash or Exploding Raspberry Sorbet. Be prepared for the ultimate ice cream experience.

Location: 196below at the Food Truck Feedlot

It wouldn't be the show without an abundance of food on a stick options and it seems we are no longer content with the usual suspects of fairy floss, dagwood dogs or chips on a stick. Luckily Big Tony's have our backs (or perhaps our stomachs in this case) and it's time to do an excited little happy dance for the newest novelty food on a stick hitting the showgrounds in 2019 - the Custard Bomb. It is a fritter-like ball of custardy sweetness on a stick that you can eat with one hand - what's not to love about that?

Location: Big Tony's, Orana Parade

At last year's show we savoured our coffee in a cone, but in 2019 there is a brand new food in a cone creation to enjoy, called the Chic Kone. That's right, it is fried chicken in your choice of honey butter or spicy buffalo butter served in a delicious waffle cone. It's the ultimate in takeaway chicken and there are no utensils required!

Location: Grand Parade

Who doesn't love to munch on a hot chip at the Show? This year your salty fix will be bigger and better than ever, as this year's show hosts the "the world's longest fries". At a foot long these fries will surely satisfy your savoury cravings. They can be ordered plain or loaded, with sauce, mayonnaise or in one of 20 flavoured salt varieties.

Location: Orana Parade

It seems the unicorn theme is everywhere these days, showering its mythical magic and rainbow-inspired colours over everyone and everything. So it's little surprise to see the unicorn theme getting in on the novelty food action and giving the humble Hot Cross Bun a unicorn-style makeover. While it is true that the Hot Cross Bun already comes in many flavours and forms, it has never looked quite as festive as this.

Location: Woolworths Fresh Food Dome

With an abundance of carnival and novelty food on offer at the Sydney Royal Easter Show each year, there is always something new to sink your teeth in to.
