The first day of the second annual Pinfest has concluded and it was a huge success. This charity festival, sponsored by Highway Entertainment, aims to bring together pinball enthusiasts from all over the country, engages the local community with a true social gaming experience that is inclusive and fun, and raises money for a fantastic charity - the SIDS for Kids Foundation.
I rocked up at 10.00 am this morning and the place was packed, every pin had a player and a queue. There were families everywhere, playing together, laughing together and just being involved in the spirit of the event. Over 30 pinball machines were booked for the weekend long event, including amazing pins such as The Addams Family, The Empire Strikes Back, The Sopranos, Metallica, Star Trek, The Avengers, WWF Wrestlers, and many, many more!
Highway Entertainment also provided some amazing arcade machines, which everyone was loving, including cocktail tables with 60 classic games like Pacman, Donkey Kong, Qix, Galaga and Asteroids; the cool 3D driving game Road Fighters 3D, the GameWizard Vewlix machine with 508 classic games, including Street Fighter, King of Fighters, Fatal Fury, Samurai Showdown, etc, and heaps more.
There is only one day left to attend this incredible annual event. Doors will open at 10.00 am tomorrow (Sunday) and will close at 3.00 pm, so don't miss out on this chance to see what gaming was supposed to be all about - getting out with friends and family and having a great time together kicking butt.
Pinfest 2013 was organised by the Newcastle Pinball Association, sponsored by Highway Entertainment and is being hosted by the Caves Beachside Hotel. Entry is $10 for a single admission and $20 for a family admission, and the events ends tomorrow, Sunday 22nd September at 3.00 pm.
