From a peaceful walking to running, you can do it here
If you love running and jogging like me and you live in the Bronx you probably know how hard it is to find a safe, nice, clean, and quiet path...

We have the Vancortlandt Park, the Pelham Parkway, the Mosholu Parkway and maybe others that I don't know about, but running on the parkways you hear a lot of traffics and inhale the cabon-monoxide from cars.

I'm giving out my secret path to other runners to enjoy. I'm an early bird and have been running in the New York Botanical Garden for the past 10 years.

A path you can run through in the garden

Another view of the garden and path

The garden provides beautiful clean paths that you can't find anywhere else in the Bronx. The main path makes a big loop around the garden is about 2.5 miles. From the main path you can stray into small paths that will lead you to the Bronx River, which runs through the garden and many other sides of the garden.

You can design your own route and the length of your run and the scene you like. If you like a more challenge run there are several hills at different elevations and there are some staircases that you can run up and down. You can also put down your yoga mat on the picnic ground and enjoy your stretch.
