Experts report that each year, approximately 125,000 people are diagnosed with arthritis. The annual
Arthritis Walk held at Battery Park in New York on Sunday, May 15, addresses this condition and is one of many fund-raising efforts undertaken by those who suffer from or know someone who has arthritis.
If you want to be a part of this event that helps call attention to this always painful and sometimes crippling disease, you can register for the event at 8:30 AM. The walk will begin at 10:00 AM.
You can register as a team or an individual, but don't worry if it's just you. You won't be alone, and you should have no trouble meeting someone with whom to walk along the route.
This year's "rallying cry" is "Let's Move Together". It's not only meant to illustrate how important exercise can be to arthritis sufferers, but also to get the message across that all Americans should strive to be more physically active.
