If you secretly (or not so secretly) like to dress up as your favourite comic book or movie character, can speak Klingon or love to geek out with pop culture trivia, this is definitely the New Year's event for you. With local band, Boss Fight to keep you on the dance floor and a Cosplay Prom Competition, you'll be in your element with this fun and frivolous night.

For over 18's only, you will get a free drink and appetiser on entry and a bar is available to keep yourself hydrated ready for hyperdrive later in the evening when you can catch the free courtesy bus from 11.30pm–2.30am to Anzac Square in the city.

Perhaps you're confused about the etiquette for dancing with your light saber, Valerian steel sword or Pulse Laser Gun, bone up on the do's and don't's of weaponry here.

This event is from the same people who bring us Supernova each year which caters for lovers of cosplay, fantasy, gaming, music, movies, comics, anime and all things pop culture. New Year's Geek is a smash each year and you can mix with your people, find your nemesis or just dance the night away as if you're at Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina.
