If you are looking for a less crowded venue or a somewhat romantic interlude this NYE then why not look to Pirrama Park Wharf.
%%Where, you say?
%%
Pirrama Park Wharf is at Pyrmont, down the end of Pirrama Rd from The Star, and has some of the best views of the fireworks from the western side of the Bridge, which is where you want to be. The North Sydney shoreline can be seen from here and it's a great place to unwind with Pirrama Park surrounding the wharf.
This is an exclusive ticketed event with limited capacity and includes a gourmet 3 course Italian rustic hamper by head chef Damian Krigstein of local restaurant, Bar Zini. There are 3 different hampers to choose from – Chicken, Vegetarian and Vegan.
The
Chicken Hamper has a starter of marinated mixed olives, Pane Di Casa roll and salmon rillettes with the main including a half free range chicken with chilli aioli or salsa verde on the side and a salad of rocket, roast pear, pecorino and hazelnut with aged balsamic. Top this off with a selection of macaroons for dessert and the ladie's heart may just be won.
The
Vegetarian Hamper has the same olives and roll for entree but is paired with a Caprese salad that includes bur rata cheese and roma tomatoes. Main course is wild greens and a fetta cheese filo pastry pie with olive tapenade along with French bean and roast onion salad. Macaroons for dessert.
The
Vegan Hamper contains the mixed marinated olive with Lebanese flat bread, Moroccan spiced cous cous salad with dried fruits and nuts for starter and a main that consists of Mediterranean vegetables and pine nuts with a salsa verde and French bean and roast onion salad. Dessert is raw chocolate walnut fudge. Yum, I may have to convert to vegan.
You'll experience an unreserved long table dining experience and the exclusivity of this event extends to the fully licensed cash bar on site as well as the toilets. There will also be a Serendipity Icecream Cart.
You can bring a picnic rug or a deck chair and get in the mood from 4pm with music and a fireworks sound track from the media sponsor, 2DayFM Radio. See both the 9pm and midnight fireworks in this all weather event.
[BREAK]Early Bird First Release tickets are $200 for a limited time. Second release tickets are $255. Purchase via www.trybooking.com/106154.
This less congested area and event is suitable for families, has disabled access and parking at nearby Jones Bay Wharf Car Park, although public transport is recommended. Buses and light rail from The Star transport hub are the best options.
By the way, the theme for this year's NYE is Inspire and Sydney's fabulous harbour certainly does that, not only for tourists but for locals too. How can you not be inspired by our one of a kind Opera House and historic islands in the harbour along with our famous 'Coathanger' bridge?
Who knows, this event may even inspire a proposal or two.
