Let's face it. Time seems to drag when you spend countless hours logged up in some bar with a massive crowd of people. Just waiting for the hours to roll past until the clock is just mere minutes from the minute hand landing on the '12', reigning in the start of the New Year.
So if you feel like celebrating New Year early before you haul yourself to bars or to a friend's house party, then come along to the New Year's Party on Parramatta River, hosted by the Parramatta City Council. Just be aware that there is no alcohol consumption allowed on the banks.
Or if you have a family and do not have any plans so far, come along and bring the kids. An action-packed jet-ski performance along the river, entertaining street performers, followed by a brief children's concert by the band 'The Amazing Drumming Monkeys' will keep the kids entertained while adults can taste delicious foods offered by stalls, and dance to the live music of the cover bands 'Phonic' and 'Superstitious' later in the night. Rides will also be sure to entertain all ages on the night.
Celebrations will conclude with a dazzling firework display at 9:30pm aside the Parramatta River, so you can see the light in the night sky in contrast to the light of the fireworks reflected off the river water, which is a colourful sight.
So come along and be apart of the New Years Celebrations. Bring your friends. And what makes it better is that there are a good number of bars and nightclubs close for you to continue the party and celebrations. There is no good excuse not to go!
