Midnight Fireworks in the City

If the kids are old enough to stay up late then consider the traditional midnight fireworks in the city which are held at four venues: Treasury Gardens, Flagstaff Gardens, Docklands and Kings Domain - see here for details and locations. Be aware though that these are very popular events and the crowds can be enormous.

Public transport is free on New Year's Eve, see Public Transport Victoria's website for full details.

Alternatively, from anywhere with a good view of the city skyline you'll be able to see the fireworks. Options include:

Yarra Boulevard, Kew
Ruckers Hill, Northcote
The Strand, Williamstown
Maribyrnong riverside
Footscray riverside
Green Point, Brighton Beach
Mount Dandenong
Mount Macedon

Or anyone you know who may have a loungeroom, backyard, balcony, rooftop garden or anywhere else with a view of the city skyline.
